Microsoft

Sell your Xbox Series X.

The most valuable Xbox we buy, and the one most likely to be sitting under a TV doing nothing. Real number, free courier, no haggling.

The Series X has an unusual problem for a console this good: Game Pass made it very easy to stop noticing you were not using it. There was no dramatic falling-out. You just drifted, and now there is a small black fridge under the television that your household has quietly reclassified as furniture.

It is also the highest-value Xbox in our catalogue by a wide margin, which means it is the one where the difference between selling it this month and selling it next year is measured in thousands of rand rather than hundreds.

We buy them working, we buy them faulty, and we buy them without you having to describe the condition in the most flattering possible terms first.

Every one of these has two numbers.

What it is worth working, and what it is worth faulty. Both are real, both are yours in about a minute, and both depend on the actual console rather than a best case printed on a page. That is why the number lives in the calculator and not in a table here.

Upgrading?

Then you are not really selling. You are part-paying.

The Series X is still the top of its own family, so there is no upward move to make. Most Series X sellers are either leaving the ecosystem or funding a handheld, and the voucher is worth taking if it is the latter.

Take the payout as EpicDeals.co.za credit instead of cash and we add 12% on top. That is us paying you for not needing the money in your account today, and it costs you nothing if you were going to spend it here anyway.

The 12% is only worth taking if you were going to spend it. If you need the cash, take the cash, and we will not make the voucher hard to refuse.

What actually moves the number.

Disc drive health

The Series X drive is generally reliable, but when it goes it goes properly. A drive that will not read discs turns your console into an expensive Digital Edition, which still has real value, just less of it.

Storage expansion card

The proprietary expansion cards are genuinely expensive. If yours is plugged in, tell us and we will price it in. If you want to keep it, take it out before the courier arrives.

Fan noise and dust

The Series X is famously quiet. If yours is not quiet any more, that tells us something about how much dust it has eaten, and it shows in the number.

Box, controller and cables

The standard set. A complete, boxed Series X with a working controller is the version that sells fastest, so it is the version we pay most for.

Things that do not disqualify it.

Every one of these lowers the offer. Not one of them ends it. Pick the matching condition, say what is wrong in the notes, and the price you are shown already accounts for it.

  • Disc drive not reading, taking or ejecting discs
  • No display output, or HDMI handshake failures on 4K sets
  • Overheating, thermal shutdown, unusual fan noise
  • Controller stick drift or bumper failure
  • Power supply issues, will not turn on
  • Cosmetic damage, scratched top vent, missing feet
  • Liquid damage

Three ways to take the money.

Xbox Series X questions.

Yes. It is worth a bit less than the disc edition, and the calculator handles it. Select the closest match and describe it accurately in the notes.

One minute, one number.
