Valve
Sell your Steam Deck.
OLED or LCD, 64GB to 1TB. Hard to sell privately in South Africa, straightforward to sell to us. Instant offer, free courier.
Steam Decks are unusually awkward to sell privately in South Africa. Valve never sold them here officially, so most of them arrived via a friend overseas or a grey importer, and the local buyer pool is small, technical and extremely good at negotiating. That combination is why so many Decks end up listed for weeks.
We buy them properly because the people who want them really want them, and because a Deck in good order sells quickly on EpicDeals.co.za. Handhelds have become the most interesting corner of gaming hardware, and that has fed straight back into what a used Deck is worth.
The OLED model is the one to sell soonest. It is worth considerably more than the LCD, which means it also has considerably more value to lose.
Every one of these has two numbers.
What it is worth working, and what it is worth faulty. Both are real, both are yours in about a minute, and both depend on the actual console rather than a best case printed on a page. That is why the number lives in the calculator and not in a table here.
Steam Deck OLED
512GB or 1TB, HDR OLED screen
Steam Deck LCD
64GB, 256GB or 512GB
Upgrading?
Then you are not really selling. You are part-paying.
If yours is an LCD Deck, the OLED is the upgrade almost everyone actually wants: better screen, better battery, same everything else. If you want the bigger jump, the Legion Go Gen 2 is the most powerful handheld we deal in.
Take the payout as EpicDeals.co.za credit instead of cash and we add 12% on top. That is us paying you for not needing the money in your account today, and it costs you nothing if you were going to spend it here anyway.
The 12% is only worth taking if you were going to spend it. If you need the cash, take the cash, and we will not make the voucher hard to refuse.
What actually moves the number.
OLED versus LCD, and storage
These two things account for most of the price difference between one Deck and another. The 64GB LCD with the slow eMMC drive is the bottom of the range, the 1TB OLED the top, and the gap between them is large.
Whether it has been modified
Replaced SSD, new fan, aftermarket shell, dual-booted into Windows: all common, none disqualifying. Tell us what was done. Sensible upgrades can raise the offer, a half-finished repair lowers it.
Case, charger and dock
The original carry case matters more here than a box does on a home console, because a Deck travels. The official dock is a genuinely valuable separate item.
Stick and trigger wear
Decks get used hard. Drifting sticks, worn triggers and sticky back buttons are normal wear on these, priced rather than rejected.
Things that do not disqualify it.
Every one of these lowers the offer. Not one of them ends it. Pick the matching condition, say what is wrong in the notes, and the price you are shown already accounts for it.
- Stick drift, worn triggers or unresponsive back buttons
- Fan noise, whine or rattling
- Screen scratches, dead pixels, OLED burn-in
- Battery no longer holding a useful charge
- USB-C port damage or charging failure
- Failed SSD upgrade or a half-finished repair
- Will not boot, or boots to a black screen
Three ways to take the money.
