Sony
The PS5 Pro is the most expensive thing on this list.
Which also makes it the one losing the most rand per month it sits unused. Get the number, take the courier, be done with it.
The PlayStation 5 Pro was bought by people who cared about the difference. That is not a criticism, it is the whole point of a Pro. But it does mean a Pro sitting idle is a more expensive kind of idle than a base PS5 sitting idle, because there is simply more value in it to leak away.
It is also the console where our offer and a private sale are closest together. Higher-value hardware attracts more careful buyers and more confident scammers in roughly equal measure, so the gap you would earn by selling it yourself gets eaten quickly by the risk of meeting someone in a parking lot holding nine thousand rand of console.
We buy Pros in whatever state they are in, including the ones with a fault that would make a private buyer walk away.
Every one of these has two numbers.
What it is worth working, and what it is worth faulty. Both are real, both are yours in about a minute, and both depend on the actual console rather than a best case printed on a page. That is why the number lives in the calculator and not in a table here.

Upgrading?
Then you are not really selling. You are part-paying.
There is nothing above a Pro to upgrade to, so this is the one console where the honest answer is that you are cashing out rather than trading up. If it is a second console you are replacing it with, a Steam Deck OLED or a Legion Go is where most Pro owners look next.
Take the payout as EpicDeals.co.za credit instead of cash and we add 12% on top. That is us paying you for not needing the money in your account today, and it costs you nothing if you were going to spend it here anyway.
The 12% is only worth taking if you were going to spend it. If you need the cash, take the cash, and we will not make the voucher hard to refuse.
What actually moves the number.
The detachable disc drive
The Pro ships without one. If you bought the add-on drive, include it and say so, because it is a genuinely separate item with its own value rather than a bundled accessory.
Storage, and what is in the expansion slot
If you fitted an extra SSD, tell us. We will either price it in or post it back to you, but we will not quietly keep it.
Thermals and fan behaviour
A Pro works harder than a base console by design. We check that it has been doing so without cooking itself, and that shows up in the offer.
Box and everything that came in it
On a console at this price, a complete boxed unit is worth noticeably more than a bare one. Worth the ten minutes of looking for the box.
Things that do not disqualify it.
Every one of these lowers the offer. Not one of them ends it. Pick the matching condition, say what is wrong in the notes, and the price you are shown already accounts for it.
- Overheating or thermal shutdowns under load
- Add-on disc drive that will not read or connect
- HDMI 2.1 output dropping to a lower mode or cutting out
- Fan noise, rattles, coil whine
- Stick drift on the included DualSense
- Cosmetic damage to the panels
- Will not power on at all
